One Case of Full Thickness Macular Hole in Branch Retinal Vein Occlusion

Abstract
Purpose
To report one case of full thickness macular hole associated with branch retinal vein occlusion. Methods: One patient with branch retinal vein occlusion were followed up and developed full thickness macular hole. They carried out ophthalmic examination including optical coherence tomography (OCT). Results: A 78-year-old female presented with decreased vision of the right eye. There was flame shape hemorrhage along to branch retinal vein and macular edema on fundus examination. She was followed under the diagnosis of branch retinal vein occlusion. At 10 months after initial visit, fundus examination and OCT showed full thickness macular hole with cystic change. Conclusions: Full thickness macular hole may develop as a rare complication of branch retinal vein occlusion. (Korean J Optom Vis Sci 2010;9(1):20-23)
