Abstract |
Purpose Pilomatricomas are benign tumors originating from the matrix of the hair root and uncommon tumors on the eyelid. It is the purpose of this study to report a case of pilomatricoma with an unusual origin on the eyelid of a 21-year-old man. Methods: A 21-year-old male presented with a bean-sized, movable subcutaneous nodule on his right upper eyelid just below the eyebrow 8 months ago. The size of mass was gradually increasing and there was no pain or tenderness. We performed excisional biopsy. Results: Histopathology of the mass demonstrated a pilomatricoma. At 5 months' follow up, there has been no recurrence. (Korean J Optom Vis Sci 2008;7(1):46-50) |
