Mi Jung Chi, Min Soo Park, Se Hyun Baek
Abstract
Purpose
Pilomatricomas are benign tumors originating from the matrix of the hair root and uncommon tumors on the eyelid. It is the purpose of this study to report a case of pilomatricoma with an unusual origin on the eyelid of a 21-year-old man. Methods: A 21-year-old male presented with a bean-sized, movable subcutaneous nodule on his right upper eyelid just below the eyebrow 8 months ago. The size of mass was gradually increasing and there was no pain or tenderness. We performed excisional biopsy. Results: Histopathology of the mass demonstrated a pilomatricoma. At 5 months' follow up, there has been no recurrence. (Korean J Optom Vis Sci 2008;7(1):46-50)
