Purpose We present a case of a 29-year-old woman with extensive hyperplastic bilateral persistent pupillary membranes with amblyopia in whom good vision was restored with surgical intervention. Methods: Interventional case report. Complete removal of extensive bilateral hyperplastic persistent membranes using scleral tunnel incision and angled vannas scissors in 29-year old woman with amblyopia. Results: After 40 months follow up, her best corrected visual acuity was 0.7 in right eye and 0.8 in left eye. No significant intra-operative or postoperative complications were noted. Conclusions: Surgical management is an acceptable and safe way of managing patient with extensive bilateral pupillary membranes in adult, even if significant amblyopia exists.
